Dancing with the Stars

Dancing with the Stars (U.S.Image via Wikipedia

Well, there's a new season of Dancing With the Stars coming up in September, and I have it on good authority that I'm in consideration for a part in the show. I know I'll be a real contender because of my innate physical abilities, my grace, and my loveability.

Hmmm that was just a little awkward on the turn....Lets try that again.....

The furry toy we're using is just for practice and it helps to synchronize us (pronounced siŋ-krə-ˌnīz), That's doggie lingo for keeping in step. Have you ever seen such beauty in motion? OK, I think we're ready to try it without the furry toy......

AhhhhhThat's better..... Nice and smooth......

I know Carrie Ann, and Bruno will just LOVE my style, and my sleek lines, and Len can be tough, but he's fair so I know I'll get good marks from him too.

Look at the grace, see the elegant bend of my leg. I'm a natural... Start getting your dialing finger in shape so you can vote for me on the show.

What "really" happened at the Bark Park in South Lyon, MI

First, I'd like to say that I appreciate the comments. Well, this is really a funny story. I was clowning around with Charlotte here at the Bark Park in South Lyon, MI all afternoon. Charlotte's a nice dog....I love her to death, (but in a nice way). Anyway Charlotte was walking around with hiccups all day and she said they would go away on their own, even though I told her right off that I could cure her of those hiccups. zqkf9yeag4
Of course she didn't believe me. So I hung out with her all day and then when she wasn't expecting it...... I bared my teeth and made a ferocious face. Then I barked and shrieked as loud as I could.....like a Jack-Russell Were-Wolf, and scared the hiccups right out of poor Charlotte. I think you can see them in the grass if you look hard enough..... Unfortunately I think I scared Charlotte too....look at her eyes. :-b ....... Charlotte was grateful her hiccups were gone, but I think she wanted to bite me too.......

What do you think happened here? (Bark Park, South Lyon)

There's a funny story that goes with this picture. I'll give you two or three days to let me know what you think happened. You can put your thoughts in the "comments" area. I'll post with my version of what happened in a few days. Bella zqkf9yeag4

What happened to the DWFL Playbook?

So, what's going on here you ask? This one's a little embarrassing. Well, this used to be our DWFL (Doggie Water Football League) Playbook. The spots on my tummy (click to enlarge the picture for a better view) had all kinds of lines drawn on it showing our plays. My "Center" (a little DWFL lingo) is looking closely to see if he can find any lines. Unfortunately SOMEBODY didn't use waterproof ink, and it all washed off after the first play. I guess my tummy works more like a dry-erase board that I'd like to admit. This goes to show you.....Napoleon Boneparte....oops Bonaparte was right... "An order that can be misunderstood will be misunderstood."

Next time I'll just have to specify, Permanent Marker....but first I'll have to make sure permanent isn't really permanent..... like tattoo permanent, or we'll never be able to change plays. It's not easy being top dog around here. Having to think of everything gives me a headache sometimes.

Practicing for Doggie Water-Football League (DWFL) at the Lyon Oaks Bark Park

OK, here we are at the Lyon Oaks Dog Park (Bark Park). Training for another year of Doggie Water-Football. (Of course you've heard of the DWFL?) First you see me with my key players. I'm going over the next play with them in something we sport-dogs call a "Huddle"....if you click on the picture it'll get bigger and you can see the big guy on the right has the ball.
Below you see us practicing the proper way to "Break" a Huddle. Breaking a huddle properly is an art-form and must be properly executed. (It took us three times to get it right.) Not all dogs are Terriers.

Here you see the execution of our play in moving pictures....something we dogs call "video". As you can see I look a little confused near the end because NOBODY did what they were supposed to do. Have you ever tried coaching dogs? It's a challenge because dogs have short memories and even shorter attention spans.

Finally I got so frustrated I made everybody do some Water Sprints to help them focus and clear their minds (see video below). Perhaps they'll be more receptive next time. I wonder what they were doing when they were supposed to be studying the "Play Book".....Probably watching Animal Planet, or spending time on MyDogBella.com.

Bella Welcomes Emma Grace to the Family

Remember my niece Madeline? The one I Baby-sit for? Well, she got a little sister today. I heard my "Owners" say the delivery went pretty well, so I think she came in the mail.

I've only seen pictures of her because they don't let dogs in the hospital, not even Celebrity Jack Russell Terriers. (I think it's because they want to keep the paparazzi away.) Anyway her name is Emma Grace, (you can see more of her here) and she's just a little smaller than I am. She's as cute as a human baby can be, but she doesn't do much yet except cry and sleep and eat.

All I know is once she starts handling food I'll have twice as many table scraps hitting the floor when I Baby-sit for Emma and Maddie in the future. So I have that going for me.

You know.....I've seen my Mom....um, I mean my "Owner" look at ME like that. She must really love those little girls.

Smell, Eat, or lay in the Flowers One's as good as another.

Yeah, well sometimes I smell the flowers, other times I eat them (hey, they're not daisies),

.......or lay in them...it all depends on my mood.....

Don't forget to take time to smell the flowers.

Ya Know, sometimes there's nothing pressing for me to do, and on a sunny day, it's nice to just relax and smell some flowers, or even the ground around the flowers....that can be interesting too. Nope nothing witty, or energetic about that, but hey, I'm a complex and multifaceted little Terrier. My "owner's" dad recently had something called a stroke, and it just goes to show you that life is too short to just Go! Go! Go!

Make sure you take some time to relax, and tell the ones close to you that you love and appreciate them. Just a little Terrier wisdom.

Who's really in charge at the Bark Park in South Lyon

Remember in an earlier post (See "Hangin' with one of my Homies" below.) where I told you I get thirsty running things at the Bark Park in South Lyon MI? Well, here's your proof. I got vibes that some of you humans were skeptical of my claim. Well, here's the evidence that all the dogs follow my lead around here. (Terriers are smarter than the average dog, and Jack Russell Terriers are at the TOP of the list.) Anyway, this picture should put an end to those nagging doubts you may have had, and should open you up to believe anything else I say without question. Whew...I'm glad we've got that settled.

A Funny thing happened at the Bark Park In South Lyon, MI

Boy, you should have seen Puggles and Cody, (the Cotton-Ball looking canine) when they bumped heads while checking for mail around this can...... I was rolling on my back with my feet in the air laughing till my nose went dry. I nearly laughed some of my spots off.

After they knocked heads Cody the Cotton-Ball took off running and Puggles was so scared he pee'd all over that can. What a Riot. The dog park is such a good time.....

I Love watching the Ellen Degeneres Show. I don't

understand all the words.....'cause I'm a dog, but I love the music and I can't take my eyes off the dancing....Oh...look look, look, this is my favorite part, when Ellen dances over the table.....WOW....that is ENTERTAINING. The Ellen Degeneres show is my favorite human show, (Sometimes I REALLY like watching Animal Planet though ..... No hard feelings Ellen....but you're no dog.)

I hope she dances again! "Bark.Dance.Play" (Just a

Doggie-UFC Groundwork Training

Here I am with a little (Schipperke - pronounced "Skipper Key") buddy of mine. We're engaged in a little "groundwork" training for a upcoming Doggie-UFC match. Skippys a little young and inexperienced so I'm taking it easy on him. As you can see I'm teaching him the advantages of the Gracie-School of Jiu-Jitsu by effectively employing the Bottom-Guard. I know Biting isn't allowed in Human UFC, but since we dogs lack opposing-thumbs, and have tough skin, it's in the rules for us. Don't worry....nobody's getting hurt here....we're professionals.

This isn't as uncomfortable as it looks.....

This may look uncomfortable to you humans, but we dogs learn about these things called "Puppy-Piles" from a very early age. They're a way of life for us dogs. And with Puggles blocking the way, I don't have to worry about falling off the chair in my sleep. Besides, Puggles is kind of soft..... he may have lost some weight, but he doesn't miss many meals if you know what I mean..... :-)

Standing Guard in a Sunbeam

Here I am with Puggsley warming up in a Sunbeam at home. Like Geese we take turns staying awake for guard duty......"Stay Alert - Stay Alive". Diligence is the key to proper security......

Soon it'll be Puggsley's turn to stand guard.... (yawnnnnnn)

If I can gather the energy...... to............ wake ..................him......zzzzzzzzz

OK...Who took this when I wasn't looking?

Yeah....someone caught me dozing.....if watching me sleep is boring then maybe you could count my spots or something...I always lose count cause some of them are attached to each other and I don't know if I should count them as one, or two spots......well there's also the problem of toes....I only have 20 of them........so I always come up with.....you got it.... 20 spots. If you get a good count, let me know...it'll save me a bunch of RE-COUNTS in the future (something you people in Florida and Minnesota are very familiar with).......Anyway this spot thing adds a bunch of stress to my life, let me tell you....yaaaawwwnnnn....makes me sleepy to even think about it.

Fetch Blondie.....

Here I am at a private dog park in Howell. It's a nice place with a little pond and everything. But it costs $8.00 for me to go there.....My "owners" say they like something called "free" better. This was early in the year and the pond was pretty cold so I sent Blondie into the pool to get my ball for me.....those Labs sure like the water......

Tug-Of-War at The Dog Park in Howell

Who do you think won this one? Well.......since this is a still photo, and none of you were there I'm going to say... I WON! Look at that form.....I'm using every ounce of my weight and my low center of gravity to gain victory over a larger and more massive opponent. (It's a thing we dogs call "Judo", that's spelled J-U-D-O (look it up), it's a dog thing) Whew. I may be small but I'm tenacious (is that a real word?....well.....spellcheck doesn't tell me it's not....so I'll go with it.

Posing at Home

I'm chillin' and playing with my home buddy his name's Puggsley, but we call him Puggles 'cause he's a "Puggle" (Pugg/Beagle). Sometimes I bite his ears or the loose skin under his chin for fun. (he recently lost a bunch of weight). Sometimes it seems like I have to explain everything to you guys.

Hangin with one of my Homies

Here I am hangin' with one of my Homies at the dog park. Sometimes I get thirsty running things around here. Yuk...I think someone put Perrier water in here....The fizz tickles my nose.

Waiting for Friends at the Dog Park

Here I am at the Dog park waiting for my Pack, I mean my Posse, to show up. "Hey guys.....over here....come play with me,"
